This is a new album by Atsushi Ikeda, an alto saxophone maestro who has been at the forefront of the Japanese jazz scene for 40 years. All of the tunes on this album are created using a method called "jazz contrafact", in which new melodies are placed over the chord progressions of famous standard songs. Even though it's the first time you've heard the tune, it feels somehow nostalgic. You will be drawn to this mysterious feeling. Please enjoy this high-quality, rich "jazz time."
